About The Landing at Fort Harrison

Our facility consists of 3 banquet rooms located on the banks of the Wabash River. Our unmatchable amenities and benefits include: A full-service subterranean med-spa, beautiful golf course, bar & lounge, and eight lane bowling alley. Each room is equipped with audio, visual and lighting technology to ensure the absolute best ambiance for every event or meeting.

The Landing at Fort Harrison is built on the historic site of Fort Harrison. Fort Harrison served as a forward frontier fortress, and was named after William Henry Harrison, who during the War of 1812, served as the General of the U.S. Army. In 1840 Harrison was elected as the 9th President of the United States of America.

The Terre Haute Lodge #86 Benevolent & Protective Elks purchased the property and established a private country club in 1925. An 18 hole golf course was constructed overlooking the beautiful Wabash River. The 22,000 square foot club house consisted of a restaurant, lounge, and banquet center. In 1959 the Elks added an 8 lane bowling alley, and later in 1997 added a state of the art swimming pool.

In the summer of 2008, the property was again sold to a group of professionals collectively called the Vigo Hospitality Group, LLC. The property was then named “The Landing at Fort Harrison”, and was opened to the public as a no membership required country club.

I usually don’t write reviews but my family and I had such a great time and one of the best meals ever last night, we arrived kinda early because we had heard they hand just opened back up and we wanted to beat the dinner rush but they were already busy, that did’t seem to be a problem they have alot of seating, We also had our 3 children with us and was concerned it might be to upscale for us to bring in the kids but it was “just right” and they had a great kids menu. The view of the outside was something else, almost like we had left town, very relaxing! We ordered our drinks and an appetizer and even as busy as it seemed our appetizer came out fast, which is great when your trying to entertain children 🙂 then as we finished our last bite of our appetizer our plates were cleared and our drinks were filled and our entree’s arrived almost like a production! We ordered steaks and they were some of the best we had ever eaten! What a great place! Keep up the good work! Terre Haute needed you!

Great dinner. My husband and I went for dinner during the opening weekend. He surprised me for Valentine’s day and it was a pleasant surprise. We had never been to this facility but will definitely go back soon. I loved the bourbon scallops ( I took half home to be able to enjoy it twice) and tried a candy apple martini which I loved as well. Service was great. Staff was friendly & attentive.
